What is Endogard?

Endogard is a liver flavoured allwormer tablet that treats and controls roundworm (Toxascaris leonina, Toxocara canis), hookworm (Ancylostoma caninum, Uncinaria stenocephala), whipworm (Trichuris vulpis) and tapeworm (Dipylidium caninum, Taenia ovis, Taenia pisiformis, Taenia hydatigena) including hydatids (Echinococcus granulosus) in dogs. It does not prevent heartworms. Endogard has been independently assessed and approved for use by the National Regulatory Authority in Canberra under the Agvet codes. It has a tasty liver flavor which makes it more palatable and easy to administer to dogs as they consider it to be a treat.

How It Works?

Praziquantel and oxibendazole are the two active ingredients present in Endogard. Praziquantel, an anthelmintic is used for the treatment of tapeworms and flukes. It induces contraction in parasites which results in paralysis in the contracted state. The dying parasites are dislodged from their site of action in the host organism and may enter systemic circulation or may be destroyed by host immune reaction. Oxibendazole, a benzimidazole drug protects dogs against roundworms, strongyles, threadworms, pinworms and lungworm infestations. When both these ingredients are combined there is a total parasite control in the body of your dog.

  • The increased palatability of the tablet makes administration of the tablet considerably easier than many all wormers. Endogard converts an unpleasant task into a real treat for your dog.
  • Endogard contains the actives praziquantel for tapeworm control and oxibendazole for intestinal worm control. It does not contain pyrantel or similar actives of the same class. It is generally accepted that the effectiveness of worm control products can be extended without the buildup of resistance if a simple rotation of products is followed. Virbac recommends that Endogard containing Oxibendazole be used as part of an annual rotation program with pyrantel based allwormer tablets.
  • Endogard is available in 5, 10 and 20 kg animal weight packs. For all animals between 2.5 and 40 kg not more than 2 and not less than half the tablet is required with each administration. With other all wormers up to 3 to 4 wormers may be required for some body weights.

How to Use
Directions

  • The very first step is to weigh your pet
  • Give dosage according to the weight of your dog
  • Administer the tablet directly into the mouth of the pet or assimilate it with food and then provide it to the dog.
  • Make sure that all the food is eaten by your for effectiveness of the treatment
  • Tablet of Endogard green pack treats 5 Kg bodyweight. 
  • 1 tablet of Endogard orange pack treats 10 Kg bodyweight. 
  • 1 tablet of Endogard purple pack treats 35 Kg bodyweight. 
  • Start administering Endogard to puppies at 2, 4, 6 and 8 weeks of age and continue until 3 months of age.
  • After 3 months of age, repeat the treatment at an interval of 3 months regularly. 
  • For breeding bitches, treat with Endogard before mating, again a week before whelping and then repeat the tablet 3-4 weeks after whelping. 
  • For dogs and puppies living in Hydatid infected regions, treat every 6 weeks.
